Performance

One of the most thrilling performances for me of 2025: Chorus America’s Conducting Academy’s culminating performance of this Brahms war horse was also the culmination of an incredible week of education and connection. View the full program here

The final piece on New Choir of Mt. Vernon’s first concert in June 2024: “Crossing the Bar”, as arranged by Rani Arbo. This simple setting has become a staple for our group, a favorite of audiences and singers alike.

The climactic piece of my first joint recital at Peabody, (Never) Bright Enough is a stunning piece by my mentor Katherine Pukinskis and here performed with thrilling abandon by the all-treble Conductor’s Choir and a trio of my outstanding colleagues. The piece is preceded by an interlude by Francesca Hellerman.

My first studio recording as a conductor was this reflective and evocative piece by my friend Francesca. Newly composed for a residency with Lorelei Ensemble, Francesca’s piece examines clarity and obscurity, transience and permanence captured beautifully by the singers subtle shifts in color and direction.

I have the privilege of occasionally conducting anthems for worship at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. In October 2024, I programmed a service of three spirituals to showcase this choir’s incredible sound and versatility, this classic arrangement by Burleigh.

Rehearsal

In the choral conducting degree at Peabody, we get to rehearse for weeks with a highly capable and motivated group of singers for our conducting recital. Here, we’re a couple weeks from our performance of this Monteverdi trio, a piece I chose to divide between a set of three singers and the full group of about thirteen.
